Congressman Watkins Announces Over $1 Million in CARES Act Funding for KS-02 Public Housing Agencies

Today, Congressman Steve Watkins (KS-02) announced more than $1.3 million for Kansas' Second District Public Housing Agencies Public Housing Operating Funds and Housing Choice Voucher program as a result of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Congressman Watkins spoke in support of on the House Floor. These funds disbursed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will go towards preventing, preparing, and responding to the Coronavirus Pandemic in public housing; provide resources for the management, maintenance, and resident services; and activities to support or maintain the health and safety of assisted individuals and families, and costs related to retention and support of participating owners in Kansas' Second Congressional District's Public Housing Agencies.

"Congress acted decisively to deliver resources to help prevent, prepare, and respond to the pandemic. I am proud to support the CARES Act and announce these funds will provide direct assistance to our Public Housing Agencies."
